Mansfield Town could announce a sixth and even seventh summer signing today less than two weeks since their final game of last season.
The club’s CEO, Carolyn Radford, hinted another new face was in the pipeline on a tweet last night and Chad understands boss Steve Evans is in talks with at least two players today who could be unveiled before close of play.
It’s been a very busy week so far for Mansfield with goalkeeper Conrad Logan and central defender Zander Diamond signed last weekend before a rush of three signings on Tuesday in striker Jimmy Spencer, midfielder Paul Digby and winger Paul Anderson.
Evans said at the end of the season that he wanted to get most of his summer business done in the first three weeks and appears to be on course.
The club have suggested they will go with a squad of up to 22 and, after Tuesday’s triple signing, could still bring in as many as another eight new faces.
