Mansfield Town have today made their second summer signing with the arrival of defender Paul Black on a free transfer.
The 23-year-old, who has made over 60 games in League One for Oldham Athletic, played 11 times for Tranmere Rovers last season.
After putting pen to paper, he told the club’s website www.mansfieldtown.net: “I have met with a few teams in the close season but as soon as I knew Mansfield were interested, and then having spoken to Paul (Cox), it was a ‘no brainer’ to sign. He laid out his plans to me and I want to be a part of it here.
“I want to do well for the club. The team has just won the Conference National, which isn’t an easy league to win. So there are a good group of players here already and I think we could do well next season.”
Black, whose contract will commence on 1st July, is the Stags’ second new signing of the close season, following the addition of ex-Fleetwood Town midfielder Jamie McGuire.
