MANSFIELD TOWN’S first team players have been spreading festive cheer to sick children, less than 24 hours after the club’s historic FA Cup win.

The Stags’ players, who have now set up a mouthwatering FA Cup Third Round tie against Liverpool following the 2-1 win at home to Lincoln City, took time out of their schedule to visit sick children in King’s Mill Hospital.

The team, who had clubbed together in recent weeks to buy presents for the children, donned Santa hats and brought goody bags for the kids during the hour-long visit.

Manager Paul Cox said: “We just hope we have brought a little sunshine to their lives. It’s been a worthwhile visit.”
