Goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington peforms heroics as Mansfield Town defeat Northampton Town on penalties to progress to the Division Three play-off final.

Stags won 5-4 on penalties in front of 9,243 fans after the two-legged affair had finished 3-3 on aggregate.

Wayne Corden, Liam Lawrence, Neil MacKenzie, Laurent D’Jaffo and Colin Larkin all scored for Stags, with Pilkington saving Eric Sabin’s effort for Northamtpon.

Tom Curtis had struck Mansfield’s only goal of the home leg in the 68th minute to take the game into extra time.

Mansfield Town lined up with Kevin Pilkington, Rhys Day, Alex Baptiste, Bobby Hassell, Adam Eaton, Tom Curtis, Lee Williamson, Craig Disley, Liam Lawrence, Wayne Corden and Junior Mendes.
