Mansfield Town fans have expressed their disappointment after midfielder Fergus Bell left to join Yeovil Town.

Bell joined the club under Paul Cox during the summer and played 16 times for Stags.

His departure has led to 17-year-old midfielder Joe Fitzpatrick being promoted to the first team.

Bell could make his debut for Yeovil on Saturday in their away match at Peterborough United.

Speaking on www.chad.co.uk, Brian 52 said: “I am shocked. I always regarded Fergus as a very technically gifted Player (And a very nice well balanced young man).

“Maybe his lack of strength wasn’t best suited to League Two and he should do very well in League One, where it’s not as physical.

“He obviously didn’t figure in Muzza’s plans, so you can’t blame the lad for wanting first team football. Good luck Fergus.”

OldStag added: “I always though he was a decent player, a bit lacking in speed ,but a good squad player, Good luck to him .obviously not happy to sit on the bench.”

Amber Andy said: “I think he was the best attacking central midfielder we had. I had wrongly assumed he was not playing due to injury.

“I can only think it was for financial reasons, especially as a youth team player is being named as a replacement. I too wish him well.”
