Mansfield Town today signed promising left-back Greg Taylor on an emergency loan from Luton Town. Stags’ boss Paul Cox has acted quickly following news that James Jennings, the regular left-back, will miss the rest of the season because of a torn hamstring. The 23-year-old old has played 20 times for The Hatters this season and has also spent time on loan at Tamworth this term, who Stags face this Saturday. Speaking about his new signing, Cox told www.mansfieldtown.net: “He’s a natural left back, with good ability both in defence and going forward.
“The next eight games are important and we need to be sure that all ‘bases are covered’. He’ll be a very good addition to the squad.”
With eight games to go, title-chasing Stags head into a crucial Easter week with a trip to Tamworth on Saturday followed by home clash with Gateshead on Monday and a crunch trip to rivals Wrexham on Thursday.
