MANSFIELD Town have signed trialist Luke Medley on a six month deal, thanks to the help of fans group The 12th Stags.
The supporters organisation, who have already helped bring striker Paul Connor to the club, has stumped up 1,200 towards the frontman's wages.
The 21 year old, who began his professional career with Bradford City and later joined Barnet said: "It's great that the supporters have done this. I thank them a great deal and I hope I can repay them with goals for the club."
Boss David Holdsworth has also spoken of his delight at the signing, which he says will add vital pace to the squad.
Said Holdsworth:"Luke is my type of player: young, energetic and dynamic. Hopefully he can be a real find for the club.
"I am extremely grateful to the 12th Stag for their contribution once again. They will be as eager as I am to be able to tie him up on a longer deal.His pace and skill will benefit the team greatly."
Paul Nyland, of the 12th Stag said: "It's great that the 12th Stag can help fund another transfer for David (Holdsworth).
"When asked if we can help support the transfer of Luke Medley we jumped at the chance knowing that the pace and strength of Luke could be massive boost to the current strong squad."
