Dempster happy with Mansfield move

JOHN Dempster had little hesitation in choosing Mansfield Town once Crawley boss Steve Evans told him several clubs wanted him on loan.

“Mansfield was the ideal club for me and I am looking forward to my three months here, said the big central defender who has won league titles with Rushden and Diamonds, Kettering Town and Crawley Town.

“It is a massive club and very capable of challenging for the play-offs.

“I am an honest player and I can promise the fans they will get hard work and commitment from me.

“It is up to the manager now whether he throws me straight in. You always want to play and I can play in a number of positions. If he doesn’t stick me straight into the back four on Saturday I will bide my time and work hard in training”
