It's cut and dried - the FA will give it to Harry. But how's he going to write out the England team sheet when he writes 'like a two-year old'? He'll have to employ a PA - tax-deductable, of course!

Delboy, not liking Hoddle is your perogative, but given the situation England are in he's the best man asan interim. He knows how to play compact attacking from the back with width at pace and if England are going to show up at International level that is their strongest suit. Hoddle is probably the best all round coach in the country with one weakness, technically he was so good as a player, he cabnt understand the lack of simple technique in International class players. In my view he's not wrong, but it acts as an underminer when you are trying to get the best out of a fairly mediocre over paid International.

JJ, I just do not like Hoddle.... My top 4, in no particular order or preference... Rednapp, Mourinho, O'Neill or Ferguson ... Fergie might be tempted from Urinals at his age..... Strange that only one of my four is English, but I'd still take any one of them. How about Rednapp, at least we could say little ole Mansfield Town knocked him, Moore, Hurst, Peters, Brooking & Co. out of the Cup back in `69......... Ahhh, `69... Such memories....AND a good Cup win over the Hammers...lol.

Delboy, International football is completely different to club football which is why very few successful club managers have been successful International managers and viceversa. England have a friendly in 3 weeks time against Holland and then 2 pre-Euros friendlies i believe in May. Time is very short. After the Euros I could take O'Neill or Redknapp. But I don't see this job as doable, doubling up with their current jobs for either of them. That's why I suggested Hoddle as an interim, basically for Harry, and I believe Daniel Levy and Harry would buy into that as well. let me assure you, Hoddle was very much his own man, which Is why he got the sack. Spurs supplying Interim, the next Manager and Captain.

JJ, if Hoddle got it, I'd be scouring the family history, to see if I've got the slightest droplet of Scottish, Welsh or Irish blood in me. Hoddle? I'd sooner be German!!!! We want someone who will do it HIS way & not how Lancaster Gate want it doing.... A Rednapp, O'Neill type

Victor I was in South Africa for the World Cup, not working in the England set up which I have to say was absolutely ideal compared with say the Danes and the French which I witnessed first hand. I missed the game (live) against the US settled for TV. However, I did see live probably the worst performance ever from an England team in cup competition against Algeria. Did also see the game at PE and the somewhat disjointed performance at Blom against the Germans. All I can say about Capello is the same i say about other managerscoaches. It is all about the system that you have the team play, how as individuals the players buy into it and interconnect as a group as a unit. I have to say England were very, very poor but some of of that was predicated on bad selection from within the group and what also appeared to be cliques within the group of players. With regards the present situation the FA should appoint Glenn Hoddle to run England through the Euros with immediate effect. Sure Glenn would do it, and sure that Glenn would do a very good job.

Steady rain here in Darlo this morning which is shifting the lying snow albeit it isn't a heatwave by any stretch. Forecast for Mansfield seems to suggest another "dollop" of snowfall however. Is there no hope at all for Saturday gents or has what we'd hoped would be a 7 day extravaganza of interesting fare been completely lost to the elements ?

Capello is no loss...........a lot of his tactics centered around picking the old favourites.....ignoring players in form for their clubs.....and having too stubborn a streak to recognise when things are going wrong. ( Sounds familiar!)....................The FA were right to strip Terry....the mans history is a car crash not suited to be England captain......night club assaults, bribes, cash for access, helping Wayne Bridges Mrs with her zumba lessons, and now rascism . ( allegedly for all the bleeding liberals out there). Would Coxy resign if JR told him to drop the Hitman I wonder??????
