Mansfield Town sign giant defender Exodus Geohaghon with help of 12th Stag
MANSFIELD Town boss Paul Cox has snapped up giant defender Exodus Geohaghon on an emergency loan from Darlington until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old, who stands at 6ft 5ins tall, has arrived at Field Mill with the help of the 12th Stag, who have donated £7,000 towards his wages.
Exodus recently enjoyed a three-month loan spell with League Two Dagenham & Redbridge. He has also enjoyed stints at Kettering Town, Peterborough United and Rotherham, amongst other clubs.
Speaking about signing the highly rated defender, manager Paul Cox said: “Exodus will be a good addition to our squad. He will bring size and presence and will be a commanding figure in defence.
“We needed to act quickly after John Dempster’s return to Crawley following his loan spell, but I am sure Exodus will fill the hole left by John.
“Thank you very much to the 12th Stag for enabling us to sign a player of this calibre,” he added.
Said 12th Stag co-ordinator Paul Nyland: “Many thanks to the supporters who have contributed to 12th Stag since its inception, to make this happen.”

Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 12:00 PMStags861, yep, we've got some big lads now, capable of ,as you say, "Lump our way out of this division"... Then again, we've also got the BEST passing Midfielder in this League in Roberts.... Murray, a passing player....O'Neill a passing player, Briscoe a passing or LUMP it player, Meikle, definitely not a lump it type. etc etc.... As I see it, we're no longer "One dimensional" & can play a style to combat other teams.... Much more a positive than a negative? Me thinks!

Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 10:30 AMAre we going to turn into the Stoke City of the BSP? Giant centre half with long throw, new lumbering Centre forward, Tall striker? (Dyer) playing as winger for nod ons and nothing else. Seems like PC wants us to lump our way out of this division.

Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 08:58 AMHe has a long throw which arrives with pace in the penalty area, much like Delap at Stoke! If that's what it takes to get us into the play offs, then so be it!

Friday, February 24, 2012 at 05:33 PMSo, pleasingly, a long signalled signing. Lets hope he can very quickly develop an understanding with, presumably, Sutton in the centre of defence. There's not much time left to overcome misunderstandings if the play offs are to be viable this year. Well done again to the 12th Stag group.
