Jamie Tolley could still have future with Mansfield Town
JAMIE Tolley could still have a future with Mansfield Town, says manager Paul Cox.
Tolley has been unable to win a first team place since signing last summer, but the midfielder impressed in yesterday’s 4-0 behind-closed-doors friendly win over Notts County.
Cox said: “Jamie Tolley played very well and that gives me a headache.
“He probably needs to get a bit fitter and sharper, but if we get another friendly in on Saturday and then play a reserve game next week, they will sharpen him up.
“If a player is hungry, shows desire and wants to hang around and be positive, then I won’t show the door to anyone. I have showed that with Lee Stevenson and Luke Jones, who are back in the side.
“They just have to have the desire to be successful.
“For whatever reason things didn’t work out with Jamie in the early part of the season.
“But, of late, he has shown a bit of hunger to get back in the side and I embrace that. I don’t hold grudges against anyone.”
