Sean Gregory scored after just two minutes as Selston continued to lead the way in the Central Midlands league Black Dragon Badges South Division.

In one of few games to survive the wet weather, Selston won 1-0 at at South Normanton, who missed a penalty on the half hour.

Resolute defending by the visitors kept the Shiners at bay in an entertaining encounter.

Selston remain one point ahead of Eastwood Community, who defeated Keyworth United 3-1.

In the Reserve division, leaders Sherwood Colliery are still seven points clear following a 6-3 win at Eastwood Community.

Jordan Ingram led the way with a hat-trick and Michael Taylor, Eden Homer and Kirtis Chadburn also netted.

Sherwood’s nearest challengers, Hucknall Town, also hit six to beat Harworth Colliery 6-1.

The leaders are seven points clear.
