EX-Stags star Paul Holland is helping to find the next local generation of footballers and coaches in a new Clipstone scheme.

SR Elite are to operate from the building formerly known as the Squash and Sauna Centre.

Partnered by Clipstone Parish Council, the programme will be led by Simon Ward who is sports development manager for all of SR Educations Programmes, and Jamie Hardwick, along with former Stags player and manager Paul Holland, who will be helping run the programmes.

Along with the coaching, they offer the opportunity to obtain sports-based qualifications, the equivalent of three A levels, for 16-18-year-olds .

Holland said: “I had to retire at the age of 27 because of a serious knee injury and, although I wasn’t happy that my parents insisted I stayed at school to get my A levels, I’m now so glad they did. Joining SR Education instantly appealed as it’s a subject close to my heart.”

SR will hold showcase days on 23rd/24th June at the Youth Club Ground, Church Road, Clipstone, which will consist of coaching, showcase games and questions and answers - call Debbie Farnsworth on 01159 328265, Simon Ward on 07989 564171 or visit the SR Elite website.
