Clay Cross Town’s winning league form continued, following last week’s loss in the Derbyshire Senior Cup it was service as usual with this convincing 6-1 victory in Nottinghamshire at Ollerton Town.

Millers were two up inside seven minutes first through Ryan Booker’s neat finish and then Ant Lynam slotted home after more good work from Carl Whitford.

A superb individual goal from Aidan Ordidge made it three when he cut in off the wing, ghosted past two players before firing home.

On the half-hour mark Clay Cross’s dominance was confirmed when Ordidge was fouled in the box and Lynam drove home the penalty.

Booker got his second on 34 minutes and a fifth gave Millers a comfortable half time lead.

It was six when the second contender for ‘goal of the game’ came from no other than Lynam after he turned and drove through a crowd of players form 30 yards.

As Clay Cross saw time out there was still an opportunity for Carl Russo for the home side to pull the deficit back on 80 minutes.

Clay Cross return home with a League Cup game against Dinnington Town on Saturday (3pm kick off).
