Cricketers celebrate records for Mansfield and District Cricket League

League president Dennis Cooke was honoured before 135 people at the annual Mansfield & District Cricket League Presentation Dinner at the Red Brick House, Mansfield Woodhouse.

Mr Cooke was given The Roy Simpson Memorial Cup for services to Cricket in the Mansfield League .

He has been the league president since 1999 and an ardent supporter of the Mansfield League and cricket in Mansfield for many years.

During the evening a raffle, organised by the League Secretary, raised over £200 for Cancer Research. Award winners were:

The Howard Walton Award for Overall U18s All-rounder: Charlie Blatherwick (Papplewick & Linby) 240 runs, 28 wickets and three catches at an average of 43.00.
