England’s 2005 Ashes winner Steve Harmison has confirmed his attendance for the special T20 encounter, along with free-scoring batsman and Strictly Come Dancing Star Mark Ramprakash, former England U19 World Cup-winning captain Owais Shah and formidable fast bowler Alex Tudor.

Other star attractions to take on a Welbeck Invitational XI are wicket-keeper batsman Paul Nixon, spinner Shaun Udal, seamer Dean Headley, one-day master Neil Fairbrother, Welshman Matthew Maynard and former Notts captain Jason Gallian.

Welbeck are once again hoping to draw a four-figure crowd for the big game, organised in association with the PCA, with more than 1,000 spectators having poured into the John Fretwell Complex in Sookholme for last year’s match.

You could be among that number for this year’s eagerly-awaited clash, with five pairs of tickets up for grabs, courtesy of the event’s main sponsors Greene King.

“The skills that the former England players possess is incredible and it’s a joy to watch at first hand when they are in full flow,” said Greene King’s on-trade sales director, Joe Parks.

“If the match is half as exciting as it was last year, then it will be a brilliant game to watch and with Steve Harmison lining up for the Legends this year, I’m sure there will be fireworks.”
