Round-up: Cuckney see lead at top of Notts Premier League cut

Cuckney batted first reaching a total of 250 all out, thanks in large part to James Hawley’s score of 111.

After falling to 83 for 4, Hawley teamed with Gareth Purshouse in a stand of 76 and with Conor Smith in a partnership worth 53 to reach that total.

Smith finished unbeaten on 36, with Muhammad Malik taking 4 for 53 for Welbeck.

In reply Welbeck made it to 176 for 8 from their 50 overs, with the regular loss of wickets hampering their efforts to chase the winning score.

Richard Stroh top scored with 38, while David Hunt added 32. Ian Parkin’s 4 for 44 did most to stem the chase.

West Indian Cavaliers were able to close the gap on the leaders by a handful of points.

Radcliffe-on-Trent were the visitors to Birchover Park, and made a total of 212 all out.

Notts Academy played host to Hucknall, coming out of the match with the better of a drawn match.

Academy batted first totalling 218 for 9, Lyndon James leading the way with 56, putting on 77 for the fourth wicket with Anuj Dal (42). Jake Libby was the top bowler with 4 for 70. Hucknall’s reply could only reach 151 for 6. Libby scoring 44 and Dale Campbell making 39.

The good run of form enjoyed by Mansfield Hosiery Mills continued at Ordsall Bridon after Mark Smallwood’s 126 from 114 balls helped them to post 298 for 7. Tom New adding 52 and Joe New 42.

Matt Roberts, Gary Andrews and Matt Makings all grabbing two wickets. Joshua Marsh top scored in Bridon’s reply with 48, as they got to 133 for 5 in the chase.

However their final four wickets fell for just 26 runs as Irosh Samarasooriya took 5 wickets for 25 as the Millers won by 137 runs.
