MANSFIELD LEAGUE ROUND-UP: Parkhead defy more rain to go top

As yet more rain sabotaged most of the Mansfield and District Sunday League programme, Parkhead cashed in to storm to the top of Section One.

Parkhead amassed 20 points after dismissing Coal Aston for just 67 and then knocking off the runs for the loss of five wickets.

It was one of only two matches possible in the division, with Handsworth beating Thoresby Colliery by four wickets in the other one. Michael English’s superb knock of 94 helped Thoresby post a total of 156-8, but the home side got there by four wickets.
