Unbeaten centuries by Gary Glenn, for Kirkby Portland, and Joe New, for Mansfield Hosiery Mills, were the highights of the Section One action in the Mansfield and District Sunday League.

Glenn fired 112no in a 154-run win that maintained Portland’s challenge for the title. They crushed Coal Aston and now sit only two points behind leaders Handsworth.

Meanwhile New hammered 134no to ease the woes of bottom-of-the-table Hosiery Mills, who demolished fellow strugglersw Eastwood by 206 runs.

In the Premier Section, Eckington stay clear top after an eight-wicket win over Anston, while Hucknall sit second, 18 points behind, after thumping Teversal by 101 runs.
