CUCKNEY failed to return to winning ways after they fell four runs short of victory against West Indian Cavs at Langwith Lane.
The home side won the toss and, on a bowler-friendly surface, skittled the Cavs out for 123 in 33.4 overs with Richard Stroh (3-32), Ian Parkin (3-27) and Will Butler (3-35) all doing the damage.
But what appeared to have been an easy target proved anything but that.
The result could have gone either way as both teams fought hard for the victory with Cuckney ending their innings on 120 for 9 as bowler Luke Wood did his best to get them over the line with an unbeaten 31.
Welbeck moved out of the bottom two with a six wicket win away to Clifton.
