Buxton welcomed Hadfield to The Park for the semi-final of the U17’s Compstall Cup with a place in the final against Hawk Green up for grabs.
Buxton won the toss and elected to bowl first and they got off to a great start with Griffin and Lisser picking up crucial early wickets.
Doyle was the only batsman to offer any resistance as he scored 46 for the visitors, but he was finally given out stumped off the bowling of Hawley, who went on to take four wickets.
There were also wickets for Capell and F.Smith as Buxton fielded and bowled brilliantly to limit the visitors to 82.
There was still a lot of work to do, but J.Smith(9) and D.Oldfield(20) got Buxton off to a quick start.
This was then followed up by Griffin and Hawley who finished 33 not and 18 not respectively to help Buxton to an eight wicket victory.
