Alfreton Town look to make FA Trophy progress against Kidderminster Harriers

editorial image

Alfreton Town return to the Impact Arena for the first time in three outings when they host Blue Square Bet Premier Division rivals Kidderminster Harriers in FA Carlsberg Trophy first round proper action.

Reds boss Nicky Law will be without central defenders Leigh Franks (ankle) and Ross Killock (facial) through injury but he has no other injury worries and no suspensions to contend with.

Law receives a timely boost of having skipper Darran Kempson back from injury and he also has latest signings Danny Emerton and Gavan Holohan available for selection.

Steve Burr’s Kidderminster arrive in good form having won their last two games. They are unbeaten in their last three outings and also their last three games on the road which included a terrific 4-2 win at Grimsby Town in the FA Cup.

It is a first ever cup tie in any competition between the sides but they have already met once this season with the spoils being shared in an entertaining 1-1 league draw at the Impact Arena back on 22nd September in front of 659.

As well as a place in Monday’s second round draw, the winners will receive £5,000 prize money.

Should a replay be necessary, this will take place at Aggborough on Tuesday, 27th November with a 7.45pm kick-off.
