Alfreton Town face a busy week ahead as they continue their preparations for the 2013/14 Conference Premier Division season.
Having had their first pre-season outing last Saturday, the Reds now face three more warm-up games within seven days.
This Saturday, League Two side Burton Albion are the visitors to the Impact Arena for what promises to be an intriguing game. Next Tuesday League One outfit Walsall FC are in town before the Reds make the short trip to take on Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division neighbours Matlock Town at Causeway Lane on Friday, July 19th.
The Burton Albion home game kicks-off at 3pm, the Walsall fixture has a 7.45pm start but supporters should note that the Matlock game kicks off at the slightly earlier time of 7.30pm.
There will be no segregation for either the Burton or Walsall fixture and admission is just £10 for adults and £5 for concessions - under-16s and over-65s.
In their first pre-season outing, a Burton Albion XI went down 1-0 at Ilkeston FC on Tuesday evening.
Alfreton’s next three fixtures come on the back of a very positive week for the club who announced three key signings before Nicky Law’s new-look squad turned in a strong and promising performance in front of 793 last Saturday against a full-strength Birmingham City side who finally emerged 3-1 winners.
One of six new Reds signings so far, former Burton Albion player Kristian Ramsey-Dickson opened the scoring for Alfreton after just four minutes before the Blues turned things around with three goals by the 47th minute.
The signings last week were the vastly experienced central defender Chris Westwood who was last season’s player of the season for FA Trophy winners Wrexham; former Cambridge United central midfield man Tom Shaw and Derby County goalkeeper Ross Atkins who has joined the Reds on a season-long and deal.
The triple signing bolstered a strong-looking squad up to 14, probably just four more signings shy of the final total required before the Reds begin their third-straight season at Non League’s top table.
