SCHOOLCHILDREN will gather today (14th May) to take part in the 10th annual Nottinghamshire Youth Games.
The popular event, which will be held over three dates, will see youngsters first take part in a sports hall athletics competition in Nottingham.

Disabled competitors will then do battle in a range of sports including boccia, football, cricket and table tennis on 2nd July, before a final event in another 10 sports takes place on 5th July at Ashfield School.

The Youth Games has been organised by Nottinghamshire County Council, Montgomery Leisure Services, Nottingham City Council, district councils across Nottinghamshire and Sport England.

Chris Rollé, from the Youth Games executive organising committee, told Chad the event would help improve sports participation across the area.
