OLIVER Wilson had a week to forget in the World Golf Championships-CA Championship in Florida last week.
He never recovered from his opening round of 78 and, although he managed a five-unde-par 67 in his fourth and final round, he still finished next bottom on Sunday evening.

He now takes a week's break in Mexico before starting his preparation for h
is second visit to the Masters in the second week of April.

Meantime Greg Owen returns to the Tour in the Transitions Championship, starting on Thursday.

In local golf Division One of the Men's Senior's Stableford at Oakmere Park went to Mel Bower with 25 points, two ahead of runner-up Geoff Renshaw. In Division Two Les May took the top spot with 21 points with Roger Allen in second with 19 points.

David Cops and Alex Morrell returned 46 points to win the Men's Betterball Stableford, one clear of Matthew Pinnick and David Waterhouse.

Third place went to Ian Cheshire and Crawford Hunter on the back nine from David White and Malcolm Robinson, both pairs with 44 points.

The team of Alan Ward, Andrew Hall, Kevin Gill and Malcolm Crossley took the honours in the Texas Scambe with a nett 59.4, followed by the team of Roy Griffin, Russell Woodward, Jason Davies and Alan Roberts on nett 59.9. Michael White, Robert White, Chris Briggs and Peter White came third with a nett 60.4.

Andrew Manton won the Wednesday Medal with 40 points on the back nine from Sean Pearce, with Dale Shepherd in third with 37 points.
