The Goodyear family carried off the lion's share of honours at Mansfield Triathlon Club's first aquathlon of the season, in a thrilling hard-fought contest at Ashfield School.
An aquathlon consists of a swim followed by a run, with distances varied by age group and is a popular off-season alternative to the full triathlon.

Tony and son Harry Goodyear won the relay in 31:29, whilst Callum Goodyear took first place in the
youth category in a time of 32:40.

Willow Goodyear completed the family's hat trick by taking first place in the TriStart 200m aqua-dash in 6:11.

Denying the Goodyears a senior trophy Steve Melhuish won the senior race in 32:11 and Aoife Allison ran in winner in 10:19 in the junior event.

Mansfield Triathlon club's five-strong team achieved a series of personal bests at the Bolsover 11k.

In the cold, but dry and sunny conditions 686 runners completed the new 11k course starting and finishing in the grounds of Bolsover Castle.

Ian Conn led the Mansfield Tri runners in 43:07, less than 10 minutes behind the winner and good enough for 28th place.

Following him were Anton Newell in 48:08 (94th place), Ian Burdis in 49:40 (136th place) and Lorraine Garvey in 59:34 (437th place).

Hugh Barnett completed the team in 1:22:22, finishing in 682nd place.
