The KicKStart Mini Soccer League is staging a charity football match with the help of ex-Forest stars Nigel Clough and Steve Chettle in aid of Help the Hereos charity.
The game will take place at Debdale Sports Complex, Debdale Lane on Wednesday, 10th September (6.30pm) when Nigel Clough will be bringing a Burton Albion team up to play against a Nottingham Forest Legends XI.

Steve Chettle is organising the Fores
t team which will include himself, Gary Mills, Nigel Jemson, Ian Jess, Jamie Walker, Darren Wassall and Steve Blatherwick.

It is not yet known if Nigel Clough will be playing for Burton or Forest.

Admission will be £2 adults and £1 children and OAPs.

Help the Heroes Charity was launched in October 2007 to do something practical to help wounded servicemen and women who return from the battle front, in need of recuperation and rehabilitation.

The task set by General Sir Richard Dannatt, who is head of the Army, is to raise £6m to help provide a pool and gym complex, especially for wounded amputees.

The KicKStart Mini Soccer League is already supporting a group of active servicemen from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, who intend to ride their bicycles 1,000 miles over a 10 day period next spring in support of the charity.

Their target is to raise £10,000 in order that they can purchase equipment which helps to get wounded personnel into the water.
