RAVENSHEAD Reds U9s completed a remarkable transformation in their fortunes this season, winning the Young Elizabehan League Division Three at their age group.
This time last season they were anchored at the foot of the league, and ended the year without a single league win - although they did take the sportsmanship award for the manner in which they conducted themselves in defeat.
This season they kept faith with the same team and manager (Ian Holmes) and were rewarded with the team losing only one league match, drawing two and winning the other 17, to land the league title by four points and promotion to Division Two.
Players are Ben Jones, Joe Francis, Ashley Hind, Alex Dodd, Alex Faulconbridge, Curtis Goodman, Jack Broughton, Joel Barker-Klein, Jonathan Heath and Tom Powell.
