Roger Brotherhood's Body And Soul gym in Mansfield and Troy Kissane's Shirebrook Boxing Club staged Fight Club 5 at the Kissingate Leisure Centre, Shirebrook.
The show was to showcase boxers from both clubs who are not registered amateur or professional fighters, but guys who just enjoy training and want to show their abilities and entertain the audience.
Funds from the show went to numerous charities a
nd towards Mansfield’s amateur boxing club, who are once again training the amateur boxing stars of the future.
There was also a donation from Capital One, arranged by Sergeant James Oliver at Notts Police, to go towards safety equipment for the amateur boxing club.
There were 10 exhibition bouts in total. All the bouts were hard fought and very exciting. The contestants had trained intensively for over six weeks prior to the show under the watchful eyes of Troy Kissane, Roger Brotherhood, Russ Walker and Neville Shepard.
The show bouts were refereed by professional boxing coach Alan Morris who kept the entertainment running smoothly and safely.
The leisure centre made the show a boxing spectacular, with every one of the fighters entering the ring to their own choice of music, and an exciting light and sound display, including lasers and smoke machines.
Due to the show’s success another boxing exhibition will be held on Sunday, 30th November at the Chicago Rock Cafe in Mansfield.
The show will be titled ‘Rock Hard @ Chicago Rock.’
Tickets will be on sale soon.
New boxers are now being recruited to take part in the next show.
