Bowls enthusiasts can make their way to Alfreton Indoor Bowls Club, as it opens its doors for the 2008/09 season on Monday, 15th September.
The Alfreton Bowls Club, based at Alfreton Leisure Centre, offers bowling at all levels from junior bowls and bowls coaching for beginners to leagues and regular bowls drives.
The leagues are open to men’s, ladies’ and mixed teams.
The club, wh
ich attracts over 500 members, also hopes to host several regional and national competitions throughout the season.
Bowls manager Jim Hickman said: “We’re looking forward to the coming season and are very proud of the six–rink facility, which boasts a state of the art timber deck flooring system, competition level lighting that meets the English Indoor Bowling Association standards and an electronic scoreboard.”
The Bowls Hall will be open seven days a week from 8.30am to 10.30pm and still has limited vacancies available in various leagues such as Crown Green, Ladies and mixed leagues.
Bowls is a real social event and whether you’re an amateur or advanced player there is something for you to try.
