Under-fire Stags chief executive Keith Haslam said yesterday that he was ready to sell after 14 years at the helm.
And radio station boss Tony Delahunty today told Chad Mansfield 103.2 were looking into the situation, either with a view to taking over the club themselves or in assisting as part of a consortium or partnership.
The deal could involve the radio sttaion relocating to Field Mill.
"I didn't know how the radio station board would react but they have told me to make a presentation to them early in January at a specially arranged board meeting," said Delahunty.
"I have no idea at all which way they will go but I will be spending the whole of Christmas putting it together.
"It is an either/or. We can have a look at buying the football club. But we are happy to talk to anyone, Andy Perry included, about assisting other bids.
"Whichever, we will be user-friendly to Mansfield Town Football Club."
Delahunty's initial ideas include moving the station to Field Mill, utilising the station's sales staff to look after the commercial side of the club with areas like advertising boards and sponsorship, running an end of season ball in a marquee on the pitch after the last home game, and staging four to six close season money-spinning pop concerts to crowds of 9,000 people a time.
Mansfield estate agent and long time Stags fan John Sankey has been asked to consider being named as the new chairman if the radio station made a successful takeover bid. He has not given an answer as yet.
