JUBILANT Glapwell boss Les McJannet says he will look to strengthen his squad during the summer as they prepare for life in the Unibond League.
The Hall Corner men sealed their passage to Unibond League Division One after nearest rivals Pickering Town crashed to defeat against Parkgate last night.

Today delighted manager McJannet told Chad the club, who won their first 13 games of the se
ason, had got their rewards for an impressive season.

"We are very happy to have been promoted and a little relieved that it is now all over with and it is a job well done,"he said. "We were aiming for promotion from the very beginning and had to cope with the weight of expectation, but we handled the pressure very well.

"The club is going forward both on and off the field. We had a great start to the season and kept that momentum going throughout. We worked very hard for this and it is a great achievement for everyone at the club."

And he confirmed that big-spending Glapwell would now be in the hunt for a number of new players to bolster the current team.

Said McJannet: "I think we will need to add two or three new players to the squad. The players that got us promoted will get their chance to show me what they can do next season, but we still need more depth.

"The gap between the Unibond and the NCEL Premier Division is not that big. We played teams from the Unibond in the cup this season and only narrowly lost to them.

"We will start the season looking to do as well as we can. We have a good set of players here and we will not let ourselves down. We are really looking forward to next season now."
