GLAPWELL and Shirebrook Town will both begin their 2008-09 FA Cup campaigns at home, but Rainworth and Teversal must travel to the West Midlands.
Following their promotion to the UniBond League, Glapwell do not come into the competition until the preliminary round, which is the second stage of the competition, when they will be at home to the winners of the extra preliminary round tie between
Borrowash Victoria and Market Drayton Town.

Shirebrook Town begin at home to Causeway United from the West Midlands in the extra preliminary, but both Teversal and Rainworth face trips to the ‘Black Country’ to face Tipton Town and Dudley Town.

Success in that round will see Shirebrook at home again, to either Tamworth-based Bolehall Swifts or Studley, from near Redditch.

Rainworth’s reward will be a visit to Stone Dominoes, where they won in last season’s FA Vase, or Walsall Wood.

And Teversal will visit UniBond newcomers Loughborough Dynamo if they win at Tipton.

Yesterday’s draw also went through to the first qualfying round, which is in fact the third stage of the competition.

Potential opponents for the four local sides at that stage are Rainworth away to Stourbridge; Shirebrook away to Malvern Town, GSA, or Coalville Town; Glapwell away to former League club Boston United; and Teversal away to Nuneaton Town, Gedling Town or Stapenhill.

Meanwhile, despite making their debut in the FA Trophy, Glapwell have avoided the need to play in the preliminary round, and are assured of a bumper gate in the first qualifying round when they entertain Leamington, who have a huge following.

In the FA Vase none of the local entrants have escaped having to play in the first qualifying round.

Rainworth must make a return trip to Dudley, but this time to face Dudley Sports, and there could be a second double for the Wrens, for if they win that tie they are at home to potential FA Cup opponents Walsall Wood in the second qualifying round.

If they reach the first round proper they will be at home to old foes Dunkirk, or Heath Hayes.

Shirebrook Town begin at home to Castle Vale, with a trip to either Goodrich or Pelsall Villa on offer for the winners.

Further success will bring a home tie against either Stone Dominoes or Tividale.

Teversal’s Vase campaign begins at home to Nuneaton Griff of the Midland Combination.

The winners of that will be away to East Midlands Counties League opposition in Leicestershire - either Bardon Hill Sports or Holwell Sports - and further progress will bring a trip to Market Drayton Town.

Clipstone Welfare have been drawn at home to West Midlanders Highgate United in the first qualifying round.

Should they win that they will visit Oldbury United in the second qualifier, with the prize on offer a first round proper tie at Potteries outfit Newcastle Town.

Sutton Town entertain Rocester in the opening round, with the winners away to Racing Club Warwick.

Should the Snipes reach the first round proper they will be at home to any one of Gedling MW, Norton United, Rolls Royce Leisure or Heanor Town.
