Devon to bowl youngsters over

England fast bowling legend Devon Malcolm (pictured right) will bowl over local kids at a local summer cricket camp today (Wednesday).
Children will take part in the Allianz Skills Challenge at the John Fretwell Sporting Complex on Sookholme Road.

Welbeck Cricket Club is running the event for Chance to Shine – the campaign to get more youngsters playing competitive cricket.

l For the next three weeks from from Monday, July 28th, Notts CCC, in conjunction with Welbeck CCC and Warsop Sporting trust, are running a Summer Academy at Welbeck’s Sookholme Road ground.

All youngsters are welcome from any club, and anyone wishing to try cricket for the first time are especially welcome.

Ages range from seven to 15 and all sessions begin at 10.30am and end at 3.30pm.

Although refreshments are available, youngsters are advised to bring a packed lunch with them.

The cost is £10 per day or £40 for the whole week.

Notts will be sending along two coaches, along with Tazz at Welbeck, to manage the sessions.

l Blidworth CW Cricket Club are staging their annual six-a-side tournament on Sunday, 3rd August (10am).

Eight teams will be competing in a full programme and there will also be a barbeque and childrens’ entertainment including a bouncy castle and slide.
