CHAD is saddened to report that bowls correspondent Bill 'The Bowls' Press has died at the age of 74.
Bill, whose weekly ‘Greens Gossip’ feature had a large regular following, passed away on Monday morning following an illness which grew worse over the past four months, during which time his column had necessarily become intermittent, and sometimes was submitted from his hospital bed.

As well as his bowls column, which he had contributed for the past six years, Bill had in the past also submitted news on the youth and academy aspect of Mansfield Town Football Club.

He was also a patron and supporter of Rainworth MW whose match on Monday against Appleby Frodingham began with a minute’s silence in his memory.

At the time of going to print Bill’s funeral details are not known, but will be included along with a tribute in next week’s Chad.
