Mansfield Giants senior men's local league team won the Knock-Out cup last Sunday with an emphatic 88–74 victory over league rivals Nottingham Trent University.
The win was especially sweet for Giants having lost to Trent two weeks before in the league.

Now Giants have to take on Trent again today (Wednesday) in a crunch game and whoever wins will win the Division League title.

The final began slowly for both teams, taking three minutes for the first points to be scored.

It was Giants who grew the stronger, hitting good shots from outside and playing good team basketball.

But by the end of the first half Trent began to show their dominance and clawed the Giants’ lead back to six points by half time.

However, the quality of the Giants team began to take the game away from Trent, with P. Kelly hitting four three-pointers in a row.

And, with a very strong defensive performance from M. Boot and big Ben Coy, the Giants ran out winners by 14 points.
