Broadmeadows remain top of Division Two as a result of defeating Old Bemrosians 2-0, but a 3-0 victory over Hickling by Southwell Amateurs II is keeping the leaders on their toes.
Neil Bestwick’s solitary goal for Cambridge Knights enabled his side to claim their frst victory at the expense of Ravenshead Rangers.

Kyle Kirkland, Ashley Farqhuarson and Anthony Tsiolas earned Sherwood Colliery a point in a 3-3 draw with Nutha
ll Athletic while Coronation secured a best of seven goals win at the expense of Tibshelf Community.

Of the four NSL v MAA clashes in the Notts Intermediate Cup, three ties went the way of the MAA outfits.

Magdala Amateurs, founder members of the MAA in 1904, went out 5-0 to FC05 who are much more recent entrants.

Leading 1-0 at half-time through Wes O’Rourke, Phil Burton added to the tally with a double and O’Rourke completed his hat-trick with the last kick of the game.

Steve Lester’s 80th minute goal for Southwell Amateurs brought victory after opponents Ruddington Village had pulled back to 2-2 following first half goals from Andy Brown and Paul Nicholls.

Ex-MAA outfit Underwood Villa were defeated 4-2 in extra-time by Beeston OBA after Villa had lead 2-0.

However Brunts OB, having leaked eight goals the previous week found no respite in the Cup with just Gavin Pemberton’s goal coming as a reply to six from Attenbrough Reserves.

Sloppy defending allowed Rainworth MW Reserves to build an early two goal lead at the expense of Old Elizabethans who were also culpable when it came to putting the ball in the net at the other end.

Their task became almost impossible when keeper Daz Fowler was sent off early in the second half although the 2-0 scoreline remained the same.

Steelers were beaten 6-1 by Blidworth Wefare Reserves, while a ‘bare 11’ Bilsthorpe Albion failed to reply to five goals from Carlton Town Reserves.

Old Elizabethans II had to bow out of the Notts Junior Cup to a superior Ashland Rovers Reserves who scored three times without reply and Crown Inn Selston had no complaints when they lost 2-0 to East Valley United.

Matt Neil’s solitary strike for Town Mill was insufficient to prevent a Minor Cup exit at the expense of Ruddington Village A.
