NINE youngsters from the Edgewood and Skegby Judo Clubs made up the Ashfield Team for the 2008 Nottinghamshire Youth Games held at Ashfield School, Sutton, earlier this month.
They all put in good performances, winning six out of the seven groups that they entered.
The members of the team were: Alex Owen and Erika Watson (Girls u30kg), Emma Smith (Girls u38kg), Charlotte Bramley and Amy Oldham (Girls u50kg), Joseph Astbury (Boys u29kg), Oliver Bramley (Boys u32kg), Josef Hamilton (Boys u35kg) and James Morgan (Boys u40kg).
The tournament signaled another set of impressive results for both clubs with their juniors having amassed a total of 33 medals at regional and national tournaments in the past year.
Any youngsters interested in seeing what judo is like are always warmly welcomed, and can join in with the training sessions which take place at Edgwood Primary School, Hucknall, on Mondays 6-8.15pm and at Skegby Royal British Legion on Thursdays 6pm-7.30pm.
You can call coach Steve Wilkins on 0115 9521346 or Adrian Howells on 01773 830537 (07854 656067) for more details.
