POET laureate River Wolton will be penning a verse to celebrate the refurbishment of Bolsover Library, which re-opens tomorrow (Tuesday).
Around £180,000 has been spent improving the Church Street building, which now has easier access for disabled people with additions including a lift and improvements to the entrance.

The building's interior has also been redecorated and new shelving has been installed to help visitors browse for books, CDs, DVDs and computer games.

The Derbyshire poet laureate will be reciting poetry at a special open day to celebrate the library's new look on 15th May at 10.30am.

He will be joined by Coun Bob Janes, Derbyshire County Council's cabinet member for cultural services, who says the refurbishments will benefit everybody.

He said: "I would like to thank everyone for their patience while this work was carried out and I'm sure everyone will agree that the library is a brighter and more pleasant place to visit."
