SCORCHING weather welcomed Shirebrook School's annual PE week, designed to enrich the current PE curriculum and to promote further interest.
Students took part in a range of activities, including inter-form football, rounders and netball competitions, a world sports day, tennis competitions and a trip to the Don Valley Stadium, Sheffield.

The week culminated in the Annual Sports Awards Assembly.

The annual sports day was said to be one of the largest events in the school's history. In addition to the regular track and field athletics events, students were also given the opportunity to take part in rounders, tennis, tug of war, arts workshops and a nail and face painting activity.

Staff, students and parents witnessed saw 11 school records being either matched or beaten, some of which had stood since 1995!

The day was organised by David Baldwin, of the PE Department.
