BOLSOVER Castle Fireworks Display Competition organised by Shirebrook firefighters last month received 286 entries from children at the nurseries and infant and junior schools.
The competition was designed to promote both firework safety and the fire station's new website, www.shirebrook-firestation.co.uk

Winner of the word search competition was Kelsie Jo Yates (eight), pictured front left, who attends Shirebrook Model Village Primary School.

The colouring competition was won by six-year-old Declan Glover, front right, a pupil at Park Infant School, Shirebrook. A selection of entries will be displayed on the Fire Station's website in coming weeks.

Both winners, and their families, were recently invited to the Fire Station to be presented with their prizes of family tickets for the forthcoming firework display at Bolsover Castle on Saturday 25th October.

Also pictured are Shirebrook Fire Station crew manager Simon Newcombe, back right, and Lee Hickin, Leisure Operations Manager, of Bolsover District Council.
