JANET Birkin has been appointed as chairman of Derbyshire Police Authority for a fourth successive year.
Following her re-appointment, Mrs Birkin thanked her fellow police authority members and said it was an honour to represent Derbyshire Police Authority for another year.

She said: "I would like to thank police authority members for their continued support as we work together to meet the many challenges to ensure Derbyshire remains a safe place to live, work and visit."

"Derbyshire is one of the best performing police forces in the country despite being one of the worst funded and we will continue to lobby for a fairer share of Government funding to ensure that this excellent work can continue."
