THE cyber café for the 7-11 First Steps Project at Langwith Road Education Centre in Shirebrook has been re-launched.
Acres Incorporated is a voluntary organisation that provides youth services by seeking funding to cover staff costs and for the provision of activities.
It recently received a grant for more than £22,000 from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, which has been used to replace all the equipment and computers in the cyber café. The group's own funds were used to carpet and paint the facility.
The opening of the new cyber café was organised by Mrs K. Sharpe, volunteer secretary, and the Acres Incorporated team, which led a party during the afternoon.
Peter McBesty, pictured second left, a volunteer trustee with the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, attended.
Refreshments were served by youth workers Deb Barraclough, Kate Hamilton and Julie Morton, pictured from back left.
There will be various activities and outings throughout the holiday period. For details ring 01623 744582 Monday to Wednesday, 9am to 3pm.
