SHIREBROOK made it three wins out of their last five games to boost their survival hopes further after beating Hall Road Rangers 1-0.
Town, who were missing influential goalkeeper Mark Frost, blew a golden chance to take the lead just before half-time when Wilson saw his penalty kick well saved by Burley in the home goal.
But a powerful downward header from the experienced Darre
n Bettison put Town ahead.
The visitors then rode their luck as Thacker cracked a powerful drive from distance against the crossbar, before Gibson headed the rebound inches past the post in injury time.
Town, who gave a start to new signing Brett Adams from Arnold, began the game well and could have taken the lead after a sweeping move involving Stubley, Wilson and Kistell was ended by a well timed defensive challenge.
The lively Kistell fired wide from a Gareth Davey free-kick, before Stubley also shot wide as the visitors put the pressure on the Hall Road defence.
At the other end Thacker saw his curling free-kick well saved by Simon Smith.
Town were then denied by the offside flag after Holland had fired home.
Hall Road were also denied when they thought they had taken the lead after the referee ruled McGarry had fouled Smith in the process of scoring.
Shirebrook had a goal-den chance to finally pull ahead on the 43rd minute when Stubley was hacked down in the box.
Wilson confidently stepped up but was denied by a superb save by Burley low at the foot of the post.
Burley was once again at his best at the start of the second half when he denied Stubley from a Craig Shaw free-kick.
But, following a dire spell with little action, Shirebrook at last hit the front when Darren Bettison rose well to convert a Wilson corner.
The home side then gave it their all as they looked for a route back into the game.
But look was not on Hall Road's side when Thacker hit a superb shot against the bar.
With the goal gapping, Gibson then headed the rebound just wide after the ball came back at him too quickly.
Shirebrook will be looking to keep their decent form going when the face Hall Road again on Saturday.
