STRUGGLING Shirebrook Town once against slumped to a now all too familiar defeat as they suffered their sixth league defeat in a row.
The only shining light for Town, who dismissed previous boss Darren Price in midweek, was getting on the scoresheet for the first time in the league this season.

Shirebrook, who went into the game without top scorer Joe Naylor following his recent
transfer to Arnold Town, were put under big pressure in the early stages by Dinnington.

But the home side wasted a number of decent chances, with Blythen being guilty of missing a superb chance on 25 minutes when he got under the ball from a Lindley cross and fired over.

And, with their first attack of the game, Shirebrook suprisingly took the lead when a poor clearance by Saville found Crossland who squared for Kistell to score under Hands from 15 yards out.

But it proved to be a false dawn for Town as Dinnington fought back with a determined second half display.

It was all level three minutes after the restart when Mirfin side footed a Blythen free-kick past the Shirebrook keeper.

The goal lifted Dinnington as they began to surge forward in search of the lead, while Shirebrook hit back well on the counter-attack.

Crossland saw his shot well blacked by Saville on 51 minutes, before he smacked the bar with a screamer from 30 yards.

Shirebrook were made to pay for the wasteful finishing with just 14 minutes to go after a touch of Blythen brilliance.

He picked the ball out wide before weaving past the Shirebrook defence to fire home.

On 81 minutes Mirfin deserved to get his second goal, but was denied by a brilliant save by Smith in the Shirebrook goal.

The points were wrapped up with two minutes remaining Blythen played in Walley who made no mistake from close range.
