STRUGGLING Shirebrook Town made it two league wins in a row after they beat Long Eaton 2-1 to help their fight against relegation.
Ben Kistell struck twice either side of half time to wrap up the three points after a keenly fought encounter.
Both teams went forward in the early stages as they looked to stamp their authority on the game.
But it was Shirebrook who had the fi
rst sniff at goal when Joe Storer saw his header from a Danny O'Donnell free-kick saved by Long Eaton goalkeeper Gavin Saxby.
Minutes later another O'Donnell free-kick caused bother as Lee Hunt saw his shot well saved by Saxby.
Wilson then saw his shot blocked by Pheasant following a flowing Town move involving Shaw and Stubbley.
At the other end Mitchell wasted a good chance when he fired straight at Frost, despite being one on one with the Shirebrook shot-stopper.
Town, who are now 16th in the table following the win, hit the front one minute before half time after Kistell hit a sizzling 25 yarder into the goal, which Saxby could only parry into the net.
But to the fury of the Shirebrook faithful, it was all square just 30 seconds late.
Long Eaton won a penalty after Craig Mitchell was fouled in the box by Lee Hunt. Spencer then stepped up to slot home.
Two minutes after the re-start the visitors thought they had gone ahead when Mitchell slotted home, only to be foiled by the offside flag.
Shirebrook then took the lead just after the hour mark when Kistell controlled well, despite a bobble, to blast past Saxby and give the home side control of the game.
Long Eaton continued to battle hard to get back into the game and were just inches away from an equaliser when Parker headed over.
Mitchell then saw his 25 yarder saved by Frost as Long Eaton stepped up the pressure.
Frost has proved to be hugely influential since signing for Shirebrook, and he again proved his worth in the closing stages when he kept his side ahead.
Spencer went clean through only for Frost to save well at the onrushing attacker's feet.
It proved to be the last chance of the game as Town held on for another valuable win.
