THE Rev Richard Goodhand, Vicar of SS Simon and Jude's Church, Rainworth, and St Mary of the Purification's Church, Blidworth, has moved to another local parish.
After more than 10 years as Vicar there, Mr Goodhand has moved to the parish of New Ollerton with Boughton, covering St Paulinus Church, St Giles' Church and St Matthew's Church.

Originally from Grimsby, he was living in Cotgrave and working as an assistant manager of the NatWest Bank at Keyworth, when he decided to make a career change and trained for the Ministry, becoming Assistant Curate in Wollaton. He then spent some time in Retford as Vicar and as Assistant Chaplain at Ranby Prison, before moving to Rainworth.

Pictured with him at a recent coffee morning at SS Simon and Jude's Church are, from left, church members Maureen Garner, Stephen Fox and Joan Foster.
