Secretary of State to open £1.6m new centre

THE Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, Ed Balls, will officially open the £1.6m Dukeries Construction Centre at the Ollerton college on 23rd May.
Mr Balls will be given a guided tour of the site and meet students, including the college band, before unveiling a plaque to mark his visit and the official launch of the unique, purpose-built construction centre –– jointly funded by the SSP Alliance, the Learning and Skills Council and the college.

He will be welcomed at the college by a party of local dignitaries including principal Danny Smith, chairman of governors Coun Stella Smedley and Sherwood MP Paddy Tipping.
