ORGANISERS of Nottinghamshire's biggest celebration of outlaw hero Robin Hood are gearing up for this summer's spectacular –– which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary.
The week-long Robin Hood Festival takes take place in the heart of Sherwood Forest at Edwinstowe in August and will once again boast fun-packed family entertainment, including jugglers, jesters, archers and medieval combat experts.

Said Nic Broomhead, head of Nottinghamshire County Council's country parks & conservation service: "The festival is the one week each year when visitors to Sherwood Forest Country Park are guaranteed the opportunity to go back to the times of Robin Hood.

"The extensive cast list ensures that, whatever days people decide to come, there's lots for them to enjoy."

Admission is free to the event –– which takes place from 3rd-9th August –– but there is a small charge for some events and activities. Parking is £3.

For a copy of the festival programme contact Nottinghamshire County Council on 08449 808080 or visit www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/robinhoodfestival.

Copies are also available at libraries, county contact points and tourist information centres.
