AN inquest into the death of former senior Nottinghamshire police officer Michael Todd found that he died of exposure when his state of mind was affected by alcohol, sleeping drugs and confusion due to his personal situation.
The body of Greater Manchester Chief Constable Michael Todd, of Radley Road, Halam, was found covered in snow in Snowdonia on 11th March.

At Monday's inquest, North West Wales coroner Dewi Pritchard-Jones said there was not enough evidence to rule that Mr Todd took his own life or died from an accident at the isolated spot.

The hearing was told Mr Todd sent a series of desperate text messages to friends and lovers in the days before he died and had also visited suicide websites after his wife Carolyn confronted him over an extra-marital affair just days before his death.

Recording a narrative verdict, Mr Pritchard-Jones said there was not enough evidence for suicide or an accident through misadventure.

He said: "Mr Todd died of exposure when his state of mind was affected by alcohol, a drug and confusion due to his personal situation."
